Job Description

General Summary:
The Practice Manager will provide operational leadership to the staff based on the direction of Regional Management and in collaboration with physicians. This individual is responsible for assuring that multiple offices operate at an optimal level in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. The Practice Manager is responsible for developing and implementing general operational policies and procedures for various offices and ensuring that they are followed. Works in a collaborative effort with Administrative Support departments such as: IT, Finance, Insurance, HR, QA etc. in implementing any operational changes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance to budget and reports on variances
  • Coordinate with other department managers such as Primary Care, Pediatrics, Nursing, Rehab, Radiology, Materials Management etc.
  • Communicate values, strategies, and objectives to staff as well assign accountabilities.
  • Analyze data and reports on strategies to ensure that the financial and operational goals of the offices are met.
  • Fosters a positive work environment, role models customer service and sets forth performance expectations of staff
  • Develop strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities for multiple offices in the area and present assumptions and recommend objectives.
  • Build the practice image by collaborating with patients, community organizations, and employees, enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Expand knowledge of Revenue Cycle process
  • Coordinate efforts by ensuring that the scheduling systems, marketing, other services/policies/procedures/practices are functioning properly for the offices and make adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop and recommend operating and capital budgets and ensures that the offices are demonstrating fiscal accountability.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Increase the office effectiveness by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff for the offices reporting to the Practice manager
  • Monitor and appraise job performance results. Develop a climate for offering information and opinions. Provide educational opportunities.
  • Allocate resources and review progress by generating reports and making mid-course corrections as necessary
  • Maintain the quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Accomplish objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and implement results measurements.

Education/Experience/Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Clinical Operations at the administrative level
  • Five years management experience in physician practice or comparable experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility
  • Excellent financial analysis skills, strategic thinking and development skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on experience and trail
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with physicians, management, and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated mentoring and coaching capabilities
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required/ Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration or Business preferred

Marginal: Sedentary work that includes moving objects up to 10 pounds. Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
