Due to our excellent working relationships with our clients, repeat work as well as our 3, 5 & 10 year growth plan we have immediate openings for a Powerhouse Engineerprofessional and are seeking qualified candidates who are enthusiastic and driven to succeed.


Requirements


The Powerhouse Engineer will serve as a resource for plant personnel to assist in the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the facility. You may also assist with development and implementation of plant procedures and systems and supporting successful commissioning and system checks through operation. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist the Cogen Managers, Specialists, and Operators training in the following, but not limited to, areas: process control, combustion technology, plant processes, instrumentation, and control.
  • Participate in industry user groups such as Generator User Group (GUG), Frame 5 user group, and others as directed.
  • Support investigations into powerhouse equipment failures and recommend improvements.
  • Support Powerhouse Managers, Specialist, and Operators in startups and shutdowns.
  • Actively participate in scheduled periodic Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by leadership.
  • Assist in the follow up with General Electric on remedies to issues with Frame 5 and Frame 6 generators.
  • Review, monitor and address critical process parameters including water chemistry, lab analysis, operating logs, and support follow up to plant issues.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience with Heat Recovery Steam Generator(‘HRSG’) management, operation and maintenance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or the equivalent in training or experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Familiar with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation(‘NERC’) requirements.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, processes and priorities including direct field experience, generation/distribution systems, field troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration(‘OSHA’) standards
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in power operations and maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of gas and steam technologies preferred.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
  • Must be able to respond to off hour emergencies.
  • Experience with operations and maintenance of gas turbine, steam turbine, generators, electronic controls and monitoring devices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience GE Frame 5 and 6 Gas Turbines or equivalent
