Logistics: This is a hybrid role that will involve WFH as well as site travel. The ideal candidate would live near Phoenix or Denver.

Our client is a renewable development company, specializing in the utility scale solar space. This is a direct hire role, not a contractor position. Business is booming and this client is adding to the team and now needs a Power Systems Engineer to join their team and support the pre-development phase, interconnections, permitting, and construction of our renewable energy projects.. Role Summary:
As a Power Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the interconnection process, from initial application to large generator interconnection agreements. You will perform and review power flow studies and models using industry-standard software such as PSSE, TARA, Powerworld, PSLF, PSCAD, and create Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and layouts using AutoCAD.
Responsibilities:
- Quality control and review design engineering specifications for Advanced Energy Grid Systems.
- Lead the interconnection process from initial application to large generator interconnection agreements.
- Support the Lead Engineer, GIS Team, and Pre-Construction Team regarding Engineering Drawings and layout.
- Undertake interconnection structures for multiple RTOs and ISOs.
- Use software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, TARA, and Powerworld to support projects.
- Manage planning and design of PV and BESS systems for development, engineering, interconnection, permitting, and construction.
- Perform and review power flow studies and models using industry-standard software.
- Undertake Engineering Design processes and structures.
- Develop preliminary and construction designs for PV and BESS systems using AutoCAD.
- Create and maintain engineering calculations for PV systems.
Qualifications:
- PE is a plus but not required.
- 4-year Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-10+ years of Transmission Planning/Interconnection experience.
- Experience working in interconnection processes in one or more ISO/RTO (NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, CAISO, or WECC).
- Expertise in PSSE, TARA, PSLF, PSCAD, PowerWorld, AutoCAD, etc.
Compensation & Benefits:

- Salary DOE, generally between $90-125k annual base
