DUTIES:

This postdoctoral research position is available for a highly motivated candidate to study in the laboratory of Shannon Bailey, PhD, at the University of South Florida (USF) Center for Advanced Medical Learning & Simulation and the Morsani College of Medicine, researching emerging technologies in healthcare simulation training.

Designing and performing experiments, data presentation and participation at laboratory meetings, seminars, and conferences are expected, as are participation in the preparation of research materials for manuscript and grant submissions.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD or equivalent in Human Factors, Human-computer Interaction, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Quantitative Psychology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Applied Psychology, Health Psychology, Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Education, Neuropsychology, or Similar Field. Prior experience researching virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), extended reality (XR), haptics, and artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) is preferred. Prior experience conducting and publishing human subjects research and writing Institutional Review Board protocols is preferred.

SPECAIL SKILLS:

Excellent communication/writing skills. The ideal candidate should have the demonstrated ability to carry out independent research with progressively less supervision.
