Job Purpose and Impact
The Policy Associate will support the government relations team and help represent the company on legislative and regulatory affairs with elected officials and government officials in regulatory agencies. In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with governments, trade associations, industry coalitions, public services and other authorities to influence policies and positions. Key Accountabilities
Provide general policy support to Cargill’s Government Relations team.
Participate as part of a team to track legislative and regulatory activity on a range of issues including but not limited to transportation (rail, trucking, and ocean shipping) to ensure that the organizations interests are represented.
Collaborate to prepare and organize forums and gatherings with government officials to exchange ideas and information on business activities and potential legislation that may affect the organization.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Assist with executing Cargill PAC events and strategy.
Assist with implementing Cargill’s DE&I strategy.
Other duties as assigned. Position Information

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of two years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Congress, a trade association or federal agency.
