A day in the life:
  • Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available - some travel may be required primarily within Oregon.
  • Review and allocate resources to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of projects and operations.

  • Participate and provide guidance on project teams with other agencies and government authorities.
  • Serve as a member of the Public Transportation Division management and leadership team and act as division administrator in the administrator’s absence.
  • Work with internal and external groups of people to establish, maintain and share productivity and information about current programs and policies.
  • Manage teams to implement program guidance while working with other agencies.
  • Oversee, review and evaluate policy, planning and research projects on issues of national, statewide and department related to land use and transportation integration.
  • Manage and/or approve consultant procurements and contracts of service provision, planning, training and other initiatives.
  • Oversee analysis of legislation, rules, policies and procedures to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of guidelines related to public transportation programs.
  • Supervise up to 22 staff members to ensure compliance is met for policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

What we need:
Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience;
OR
Four years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

  • Experience building and maintaining positive relationships with government officials, transportation consumer groups and advocacy groups representing underserved communities.
  • Experience developing written and verbal communications for presentations that address a various audience.
  • Experience directing and implementing strategic plans to improve safe and equitable access to public transportation.
  • Experience working on a leadership team, developing and maintaining highly effective staff teams and highly collaborative and effective cross-divisional teams.
