The City of Fort Wright is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual for the position of fulltime Police Officer.

This position will be responsible for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances and will report directly to the Chief of Police and/or his designee.

The successful candidate must be 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, free from felony conviction, have a valid KY driver’s license or be capable of attaining one, & have a HS diploma or equivalent at the time of appointment. Applicants must satisfactorily pass all pre-employment requirements in accordance with KRS 15.382, the Peace Officers Professional Standards Act (POPS)

Salary Range (DOQ) is $59,092.00 to $79,472.17, plus occasional over-time, special details, holiday pay, and a $4,300 state hazardous duty incentive upon receipt of POPS Certification.

Lateral Transfer and Retired Officers eligible for re-employment in accordance with KRS 95.022 are encouraged and eligible to apply. Lateral transfer and retired officers hired under KRS 95.022 are eligible for leave time commensurate with experience. Retired officers hired under KRS 95.022 are also eligible for a “pension waiver” stipend in addition to their base pay.
