Pn To Bsn - Nursing Adjunct Faculty

The Vincennes Campus Nursing Department of the College of Health Sciences and Human Performance is seeking candidates for an adjunct instructor position. This instructor reports to the appropriate Department/Program Chair, provides online/on campus instruction for students in a nursing major including preparation of content, assignments, and evaluation of student academic progress. Facilitate student learning and engagement in the online environment. Teaching responsibilities may be in any of the VU nursing programs: Practical Nursing, Associate of Science Nursing, RN to BSN Completion Program, or PN to BSN Concentration.

• Inform Department/Program Chair and/or other appropriate persons of student progress.
• Participate in course/clinical/laboratory planning.
• Counsel and be available to students outside of class via email, phone, etc. regarding academic/clinical performance.
• Contribute to the education of the nursing program’s students in his/her specific area of expertise according to an agreement between the department and the individual.
• Interact professionally with health team members in clinical agencies as appropriate to facilitate student learning and to promote quality nursing care for clients.
• Demonstrate respect for the dignity and personal worth of students.
• Learn and utilize required technology
• Teach assigned courses in Nursing

• Requires communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with students, peers, and clinical agencies to provide an environment conducive to students learning.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Meets requirements set forth by accrediting agencies (HLC, ACEN, ISBN), clinical agencies and Vincennes University- MSN or higher.
• Previous teaching/clinical experience (3 years) desired.
