What You Will Achieve


In your role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between project management and planning, project team and line management. You’ll review the status of projects and budgets, manage project schedules and prepare status reports. You will also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers and clients.


As a PMO Sr. Program Manager, you will be setting the objectives for multiple projects in your division. Your managerial and technical skills will help in guiding the people in your division. Your understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements will facilitate in instituting knowledge sharing practices in your team and outside. You shall be relied on to manage operational activities that support the goals of the division and sets direction for its success.

How You Will Achieve It


  • Support resource forecasts and confirms appropriate team resources assigned for project/program support.
  • Provide assessment of milestone achievement, investment triggers and go/no go decision points to prepare for governance presentations to support portfolio-level decision making and prioritization.
  • Work with and lead multi-national and multi-vendor teams, including colleague resources to identify, prioritize, justify and deliver process improvements projects across the full lifecycle of solution delivery and support and other key areas.
  • Leads and facilitate the identification of operation and project/program issues and risks and drives resolution through a matrix environment, effectively documenting decisions/rationale.
  • Set objectives for and manages multiple projects/ ongoing work activities of moderate complexity within Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit.
  • Facilitate team to appropriate discussions leading to effective decision-making, alternative development options, including pros, cons and risks.
  • Build and maintain a diverse and inclusive team culture and support Pfizer’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion objectives within the business unit.
  • Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Manage organizational complexity by understanding priorities, adapting to ever-changing internal/ external environmental factors.
  • Manage the development of project schedule (including key milestones and critical path), coordination of multiple sub-projects, budget and related interdependencies.
  • Provide strategic direction, project management oversight, training and expertise to drive toward a continuous improvement culture.
  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team and line management.


Qualifications


Must-Have


  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of demonstrated experience.
  • Good People Management experience.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, problem solving, decision making, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Prior experience interacting with, presenting to and partnering with senior executives and external customers.
  • Prior managerial and team leadership experience.


Nice-to-Have


  • Knowledge of project management concepts. Professional PM Certification (Project Management Professional [PMP] or equivalent) preferred.
  • 2-5 years leadership of a project/program management team.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate in the resolution of technical challenges, as well as demonstrated analytical and business skills (financial acumen).
  • Demonstrated skills in team facilitation and effective communications, both oral and written.
  • Master's degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.
