Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Quality Assurance: Establishing quality standards and ensuring their implementation across projects. Conducting audits and reviews to assess project compliance with quality requirements. Implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Project Portfolio Management: Overseeing the management of multiple projects, ensuring they align with Charter and Contract milestones and measuring and reporting the stage gates schedules attainments.
  • PMO Process Improvement: Continuously evaluating and enhancing PMO processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize project management practices. Identifying opportunities for automation and streamlining workflows.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Leading a team of project managers or coordinators within the PMO. Providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster functional excellence, growth and ensure project success.
  • Resource Management: Allocating resources, such as personnel, budget, and equipment, to projects based on their requirements and priorities. Monitoring resource utilization and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Project Planning and Governance: identifying improvements opportunities in the project management processes, frameworks, and standards, and ensuring adherence to them. This includes establishing project governance processes and controls.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking project progress in the PMO, milestones, and deliverables. Generating regular reports to provide insights into project performance, risks, and issues. Communicating updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Make sure the right stakeholders are identified in the project both IT and Business, team members, and senior management. Facilitating effective communication, stage gate reviews - managing expectations, and addressing concerns of sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identifying and assessing project risks and issues are recorded.

Mandatory Skills Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience working with all levels within an organization and understanding business priorities.
  • Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Proven record of achievement as a Project Manager demonstrating experience in successfully managing team resources, systems development, estimating effort and costs, and planning and scheduling project activities.
  • Experience managing a PMO in other organizations.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience as a practicing Senior Project Manager across a variety of projects.
  • Previous experience organizing and facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops, meetings and presentations.
