Job Description

The Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) provides f ront-line leadership and direction, performance measurement and problem solving to the specific areas within the facility. The Supervisor will also coordinate activities of production team members including product line(s) or production shift of significant size and volumes to ensure that production requirements, performance goals, and improvement objectives are achieved.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities


  • Identifies, arranges and/or provides training to ensure a safe, efficient, quality work environment with focus on continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles.
  • Supervises associates in a manner fosters a safe work environment and self-directed team approach.
  • Create & monitors the alignment of product or line(s) with master production schedule and material planning to meet production goals. Create & monitors departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports.
  • Remains flexible to the needs of the business and performs other functions as required.
  • Work with Engineers on the analysis of production and related processes and makes recommendations on improvements and organization of process improvement activity through the application of Six-Sigma & Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Provides leadership to associates in all areas including: hiring, performance management, coaching, counseling and corrective actions.
  • Promotes an atmosphere of diversity, inclusion, open communication and trust, affording opportunities for training and growth.
  • Ensures work orders are closed in Oracle and data is accurate.
  • Provides direction in the resolution of technical and production-related problems to assure completion of weekly schedules that meet or exceed Company and Customer expectations.
  • Facilitates communication, coordination and conflict resolution within and among work groups.
  • Provides continuous communication ant management on production, facility and associate accomplishments and/or concerns.
  • Adheres to Viant Values, including safety, quality requirements, policies and procedures.


Position Requirements


Job Experience:


  • 3- 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the Medical Device industry highly desirable
  • Strong communication skill, MS Office experience
  • HS Diploma required; Bachelor Degree in Operations/Engineering or Business preferred

  • Strong communication skills, MS Office experience
  • Demonstrated experience teaching and coaching the application of continuous improvement and analytical skills

  • Ability to plan and manage various aspects of the operation for a safe environment and profitable growth
  • Excellent written, oral, presentations and facilitation skills


Physical Requirements


  • O ccasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be required
  • Production floor long periods of sitting, standing
