Immediate opening for a Plant Facilities Technician in the Vernon area who possesses:
  • Facilities/Machine Preventative Maintenance Technician - 3+ yrs.

Responsibilitites
 Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Help Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
 Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
 Remove, assemble, install, repair wiring, electrical, electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
 Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
 Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
 Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
 Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
 Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
 Responsible for maintaining and repairing production related tools and equipment.
 Work with other trades in construction or modification of new facilities including carpentry, drywall, ceilings and flooring.
 Maintain fluid systems used for testing of hydraulic products.
 Experience in all phases of hydraulic equipment maintenance including pumps, valves, filter systems, actuators, and fluids and ability to troubleshoot hydraulic pumps, valves, and piping to determine needed repairs.
 Design and install fluid piping for new equipment and replacement of leaking or broken lines.
 Experience with and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems to determine needed repairs; ability to use various electrical testers, gauges, meters etc. as needed to assist in troubleshooting electrical systems.
 Experience with and ability to troubleshoot pneumatic systems to determine needed repairs.
 Work directly with manufacturing engineers and production leads to maintain production.
 Ability to work and repair HVAC systems and exhaust systems.
 Maintain equipment in good working order to support production and minimize downtime or interruptions.
 Specify parts and materials needed for repairs or new installations.
 Construct new systems to meet the requirements of production areas.
 Learn new systems and technology as they are introduced into production processes.
 Four Year production maintenance experience is required; seven or more years desired.
 Assists with facilities and plant maintenance related activities.
 Activities may include relocation of boxes, furniture, and/or equipment as needed.
 Office and administrative support as needed to include, but not limited to, electrical cabling of workstations, assemble and break down furniture rearrangement, hang pictures, adjust thermostats, lock/unlock doors, lift/load/unload boxes/supplies, general cleaning, and keeping maintenance work area clean with 5/S standards.
 Must be willing to work in a team environment.
 Must adhere to all safety regulations as defined by management.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
 Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
 Experience with plumbing, compressed air systems, and principles of lean manufacturing.
 Read schematics and work from drawings and sketches
 Good verbal and written communication skills.
 Basic knowledge of computer software use including word, excel, power point and outlook is required.
 Ability to navigate in a windows environment is desirable, including web-based navigation and/or applications.
 Act on your own authority in emergency or difficult situations.
Educational Or Special Training Required
 Must have high school diploma or equivalent and able to read and write English.
 A combination of trade school certificate in hydraulic systems training, and 3 years' experience in hydraulic test equipment maintenance
 Training in response to spills of hazardous materials and emergencies.
 Ability to complete additional training in general and specialized safety topics as required.
 Ability to obtain Barksdale forklift certification and be able to operate other material handling equipment as required.
 Familiarity with government regulations is desired (or ability to obtain) including, but not limited to: OSHA, Cal-OSHA, NFPA, National Building Code, NEC, etc.
 Familiarity with or ability to obtain experience in CMMS system is required.
 Additional: Certification in electrical and/or pneumatic systems is desirable.
Hourly Wage - $23.64 per hour
