Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is hiring a Planning Intern with a focus on climate resiliency for our 2023 spring and summer program. Position is based in either our Hamilton or Newark, NJ office.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft reports and other planning documents
  • Support updates of hazard mitigation plans
  • Assist planning and execution of stakeholder engagement and outreach
  • Research best practices and strategies to address impacts of climate change
  • Gather data and information on climate change, natural hazards, and other relevant topics.
  • Perform GIS mapping and analysis

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Passionate about addressing the impacts of climate change through planning, with the ability to work in a time-sensitive, fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience and competency in GIS preferred
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Currently enrolled in good academic standing and pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Urban Planning at an accredited University or College

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $22 - $24 per hour. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
