Summary of Position

The Physician Support Specialist (PSS) role is to work in conjunction with clinicians who manage expert medical services (EMS) for Teladoc Health members. Responsible to assure timely member communication and progress of EMS cases from initial enrollment through completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, organize and update relevant data using case management software
  • Ensure the highest quality and timeliness for all outgoing reports and communications
  • Communicate with case team to assure timely follow up, records collection and delivery
  • Ensure clear, accurate, concise and thorough case documentation in the case management system
  • Participate in meetings and special projects as needed
  • Constant monitoring of incoming email and faxes
  • Provide regular case updates to members and escalate clinical information as needed to the assigned physician.
  • Schedule member appointments with clinical staff as needed
  • Collaborate with clinicians to prioritize case management and demonstrate an appropriate sense of urgency throughout the case life
  • Support physician case assignment
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers including but not limited to clinicians and members
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions

Qualifications Required for Position

  • Medical vocabulary a PLUS
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Strong time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration preferred
  • LPN, Medical Assistant, or other healthcare background helpful
  • Comfortable recommending changes to improve member experience and team performance
  • 3+ years experience working in a customer focused environment preferable in healthcare or hospital setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced work environment in a growing company

The base salary range for this position is $20.00-$22.00 per hour. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2023 . Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
