Photographer - House Public Information Services A full-time position with benefits is available with the Minnesota House of Representatives as a Photographer for the nonpartisan Public Information Services Office. The office supports the mission of the House of Representatives through news and information services, including reporting on committees and floor sessions, informational publications, photography and television coverage. This position exists to provide members, staff and the public with credible and timely nonpartisan public information through photographic services including at committee meetings, floor sessions, news conferences and other House-related events; providing digital images for department products and services; and maintaining organized file records of digital images. The photographer also serves as backup to the chief photographer/art and production coordinator for photography-related tasks, and for publication layout and design-related tasks. A successful candidate will have a working knowledge of photojournalism, the latest photography techniques and technology, and publication production technology. Proficiency in Photoshop is essential; Lightroom experience is desirable. A successful candidate must be able to regularly lift, carry and manipulate House-provided photographic equipment (such as camera bodies, lenses, tripod, camera bag) to react to photographic opportunities promptly and effectively, sometimes on short notice. Must have a willingness to do a variety of tasks and have flexibility to work long and irregular hours, especially during regular and (if necessary) special legislative sessions, and perform all services in a professional, nonpartisan and confidential manner.
