WILDSAM is an American travel brand reimagining the boundaries of travel. We tell true stories of place—to unearth the real, the rooted, the unvarnished, and the authentic. Through our online platform, our new magazine and collection of pocket-sized field guides, we go beyond typical travel information, instead revealing a deep sense of place through archival heritage, local commentary, cultural landmarks and inspired writing. We are looking for a Photo Editor to elevate visual storytelling across all Wildsam content channels, from building a fresh network of photo contributors to overseeing creation, production and delivery of all original photography, video and illustration. This role will collaborate closely with our Art Director, Design Director, and Head of Creative, as well as staff editors and writers. You will help grow the new aesthetic and visual POV for Wildsam. You will bring creative thinking to the table, and work with the editorial team to help innovate what can be brought to all types of storytelling.

  • Grow and maintain a network of leading contributors; scout new talent.
  • Ideate and research potential contributors on an on-going basis to ensure Wildsam keeps building their catalog of great visual storytellers.
  • Assist other Wildsam media projects and campaigns
  • Provide creative support to the Art Directors and Social Editor as needed.

  • The ability to identify and develop relationships with contributors who should be working for Wildsam media channels
  • 5 years editorial photo editor experience or equivalent in art buying or curating
  • A thorough understanding of editorial production
  • Expertise in managing and dealing with photographers, illustrators, videographers, directors, production companies and artists
