Your New Role…

CNN Underscored is seeking an individual who is passionate about online visual storytelling, brand development, e-commerce, product reviews, shopping content and journalism.

Your Role Accountabilities…

• Source photos for CNN Underscored articles as needed
• Own the photo style guide and act as quality control for all images used across the site, ensuring they not only visually represent the article, but fully mirror the quality of the editorial content
• Work with design and editorial team to define, refine and evolve the visual representation of the CNN Underscored brand across verticals and platforms that helps elevate the brand and further differentiate it from other publishers
• Work with our programming and editorial teams on setting guidelines for images appearing on CNN articles, homepage, email newsletters and social feeds
• Produce photo splits, GIFS and screen grabs from video
• Regularly conduct photoshoots and guide freelancers on taking photos in order to grow our available original imagery, aligning with best practices set forth by you and the design team
• Pitch creative and thoughtful photo coverage ideas, working in tandem with the CNN Underscored editorial and social teams

Qualifications & Experience…

• Experience with Adobe Premier and Illustrator are a plus
• Knowledge of trends in photojournalism, web design and digital marketing preferred
• A solid understanding of the reviews and recommendations space, e-commerce, shopping content.
• Four or more years of photo editing experience for a digital media publishing organization, including time spent developing original photos
• Strong news judgment
• Familiarity with SEO and web analytics are a bonus.
• Experience with content management systems, Adobe Photoshop and PhotoMechanic.

The Legal Bits…

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $70,070.00 - $130,130.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
