Title: Phlebotomist


Job Duties: Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and the Program Director, the Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting in the provision of the therapeutic milieu by monitoring and communicating with clients, providing rehabilitation groups under supervision, and assisting in crisis intervention. Other duties may be assigned as needed by the Director of Nursing, the Program Director, or a Designee.


Schedule:


  • Full-Time: Only with CNA license.
  • Part-Time


Qualifications:


  • In the absence of two years experience, training may be substituted. This training will be based on, but not limited to, the in-service plan for 52 hours.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience as applicable in a psychiatric setting.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
  • A valid California driver's license preferred.
  • Current Phlebotomist certification


Responsibilities:
  • Accompanies clients to appointments and community-based programs.
  • Monitors clients when clients are not in group.
  • Professional Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Is required to take vital signs.
  • Communicates with clients to check on physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Participates in staff meetings on nursing/program development.
  • Has current techniques of behavioral intervention training within six (6) months.
  • Maintains special observations of high-risk clients.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as role model and leader to fellow team members.
  • Completes facility census count per policy and procedure.
  • Completes documentation as specified in policies.
  • Assists in the management of assaultive, disruptive, or suicidal clients.
  • Reports critical information to nurse and program staff in regard to clients.
  • May co-facilitate rehabilitation groups under supervision of program staff.
  • Assists clients with ADLs as needed.
  • Works with clients in training capacity, if applicable.
  • Conduct assigned blood draws.
  • Participates as team member in crisis intervention.
  • Assists in establishment and maintenance of therapeutic milieu by observing and reporting unusual client behaviors to the charge nurse.
  • Must meet in-service requirements.
  • Nursing and Program Functions:
  • May assist in orientation and training of all new Rehabilitation Assistants.


Physical Demands:


  • Must be able to get out of vehicles and tolerate one to two hours of driving for transportation of clients.
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, reach, and stand, moving about in work area and throughout facility to accomplish task.
  • Must be able to assist with the physical interventions of clients.
  • Must be in good physical condition to meet demands of an active position, necessitating extensiveness of walking and standing.


About the Campus: Our Skilled Nursing Facility is just minutes from the freeway, conveniently located by many shops and restaurants. As Neuro-behavioral campus the we less medically acute and as such there are great opportunities for clients. For example Crestwood Wellness & Recovery Center has adopted the city park next to our building. Our clients actively pursue their gardening skills and creative beautification inspirations by maintaining and adding to the garden beds created on Earth Day 2009. The efforts have created a space for quiet and serenity as well. Weather permitting, staff often take clients to the park for group therapy, meditation, and yoga.

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay per hour at the time of posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to candidate's skills, experience, licensure, and program acuity.


Pay Range:


$20—$20 USD
