Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity to join our Mail Order team and the position can be located at Geisinger South Wilkes- Barre, Wilkes-Barre, PA or the Centralized Logistics and Materials Distribution Center in Elysburg, PA. The pharmacy technician works as an entry-level position focused on medication delivery and inventory management. The position has basic patient/provider service responsibilities through communication and message retrieval.

Job Duties

• Participate in the onboarding and training of new pharmacy personnel.
• Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution.
• Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require the expertise of a pharmacist
• Maintain pharmacy records.
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care
• Retrieve, review, and perform inventory management for medications and supplies in the pharmacy.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies.
• Provide patient/provider/customer care

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)

Experience

Certification(s) and License(s)

Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) within 2 years - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB or NHA))
