Join our amazing team as our newest Pet Care Attendant!
You'll love the day-to-day care of patients and boarders including feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the well-being of pets.


Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day care of patients and boarders
  • Unpack & Stock Inventory
  • Ensuring the well-being of pets
  • Monitoring behaviors
  • Walking and bathing
  • Safe handling and restraint
  • Feeding and watering
  • Client Communication
  • Assisting medical staff
  • Clean & Wrap Surgical Packs

What You'll Bring:

  • Weekend, Holiday and Evening (7pm-8pm ) Avaliabilty
  • Must have sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects
  • References, background checks, and drug testing are required
  • A sense of fun and teamwork – Smiles and laughter are required for all who apply
  • A willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for boarded and hospitalized pets
  • Must have previous animal experience
  • Previous animal experience
  • The ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease
  • Dependable and able to work independently

Chowan Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility in Edenton, North Carolina. Since 1941, our knowledgeable and kind staff have been providing the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs and cats. We are well-equipped to provide the highest quality care possible for our patients. We provide complete care including preventative and wellness, digital radiology, dentistry, spay/neuter, surgery, rehabilitation, bloodwork, in-house and send-out labs, and urgent care.
We are a collaborative practice, with over 70 years of combined knowledge of veterinary medicine and a shared passion for practicing small animal medicine and surgery. We have a highly-skilled and leveraged support staff including registered veterinary technicians. We take every step to give pets the best possible care and the first step is our wonderful staff.
