Job Description

Bullies suck. Our law firm exists to do something about it.

In the process, we always try to show up with Compassion, Grit, and Poise. If this resonates with you, please keep reading!

Our fast-growing Wyoming injury law firm is looking for a high-performing personal injury paralegal to join our team—in Casper, WY, or remotely anywhere in the US—for a rewarding long-term opportunity!

Are you a successful and knowledgeable client-focused paralegal looking to work alongside an established team of high-performing professionals? If so, we’d like to connect! We are looking to add to our team of high performers and are eager to reward and incentivize the right person who helps the firm push forward with its history of first-class results

We are building our business and want to help you build a life-giving career in the process. We are committed to professional development and intend to reward all who make a meaningful contribution to our team. Even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have grown rapidly and have a robust caseload of good injured folks who need our help. We are eager to reward and incentivize the right person who helps the firm push forward with its history of aggressive growth.

You should have five years of personal injury litigation experience and be comfortable managing your own cases from start to finish. You should be passionate about helping our clients find justice and compensation for their injuries and also excited by the personal and professional opportunities that come from working for a fast-growing law firm.

If this sounds like you, apply today!

Compensation:

$45,000+ DOE

Responsibilities:

We love our work. And that’s a good thing because plaintiffs' personal injury litigation is challenging and demanding. This is a fast-paced job and will require solid organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

You will report directly to the managing attorney(s) for your cases, and there will be plenty of opportunities to brainstorm, collaborate, and be mentored. You will creatively strategize plans and solutions for your cases under the direction of your managing attorney(s) to ensure each case progresses through the firm’s pipeline while maintaining top-notch quality standards. As an experienced paralegal, you should also value the opportunity to work independently. Because of this, priority will be given to paralegals who don't need much training on the litigation process or basic legal concepts.

We are committed to professional development and showing appreciation to everyone who makes valuable contributions to our team. If you are hired, you will work with a team of conscientious and loyal people who work hard to do the job right the first time and take pride in the work we do.

Finally, we are a firm of trial lawyers. There are always new techniques and strategies available to the ambitious, curious, and persistent legal team. Our lawyers are committed to investing time to read about and learn how to keep becoming the best trial lawyers we can be. We are building a legal team of paralegals and support staff who feel the same way about this work and who want to develop and hone their skills.

You need to be comfortable doing this stuff:

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with our attorneys, staff, clients, opposing counsel, experts, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and lien holders
  • Consistently document case status in the firm's case management system
  • Investigate personal injury claims and provide relevant information to your managing attorneys
  • Prepare cases for a jury trial and support your attorney at trial
  • Research case law, statutes, rules, insurance policies, and medical records
  • Draft or review/edit demand letters, complaints, motions, briefs, deposition notices, discovery responses, and mediation statements

Qualifications:

  • Diligent and driven to finish projects efficiently while being accurate and thorough
  • At least five years of litigation and trial experience preferred
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the personal injury and wrongful death process, basic medical terminology, and the rules of civil procedure
  • Full of initiative
  • Comfortable with computers and learning new technology or software
  • Skilled at identifying the next thing needed to maximize the value you provide to your team
  • Ongoing willingness to learn and apply new litigation skills to deliver first-class results
  • A boss at calendaring & meeting deadlines
  • Detailed oriented
  • Superb research, writing, organization, scheduling, and communication skills
