Aon Is Looking for a Sales Executive for our US Pension Administration Team

Be part of an industry-leading team bringing Aon’s customized pension administration solutions to employers across the U.S. Aon’s pension administration business is a well-established industry leader and you would be joining a team that is motivated to continue growing the business at a rate that is out-pacing the industry.

The sales executive will be responsible for creating external demand for pension administration and will lead our sales efforts on specific opportunities with clients and prospects. The sales executive helps our Aon team develop precisely the right solution to meet each client’s needs

Your Impact as a Sales Executive

Responsibilities

  • Help establish and coordinate sales strategy across clients of all sizes
  • Creatively eliminate barriers for clients entering new markets; support the team in navigating alternative paths to making the sale
  • Effectively introduce lead generation resources at the appropriate time in the selling process
  • Regular/minimum of 10-20% travel expected, depending on sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospects
  • Draft contracts and work with Aon legal on contract negotiations
  • Collect and communicate market intelligence on products/services and incorporate it into sales client planning process
  • Identify and pursue internal and external prospect opportunities
  • Achieve annual cumulative pension administration sales team goals
  • Review existing client contracts that are up for renegotiation or require a fee review
  • Partner with Aon’s Enterprise Client Group to connect our largest Aon clients
  • Effectively integrate with other Aon sales leaders across practices to identify opportunities and deliver Aon United to prospects
  • Ensure most efficient use of Aon Connect, Aon’s internal CRM/pipeline management tool
  • Work with current teams to develop scope and pricing for large projects
  • Work collaboratively with other Pension Administration Sales Executives

Qualifications and Expertise

  • Flexiblity to maintain roughly 20% travel schedule, pending client and prospect needs.
  • 10+ years of direct experience in the U.S. retirement plan market with demonstrated sales success
  • Strong relationship management abilities: Capability to build trusted advisor relationships at multiple levels in a potential client company, including members of the fiduciary, financial, and administrative committees who are responsible for retirement plans. Experienced in maintaining productive, internal relationships in order to leverage those resources when necessary.
  • Validated history of success in establishing and driving a sales strategy
  • Strong Communication and Project Management skills: Ability to handle multiple, complex sales processes at the same time. Very strong internal and external communication skills, with the ability to listen comprehensively and deliver clear instructions and/or recommendations.
  • Established network of contacts—particularly for defined benefit plans, is preferred
  • Deep knowledge of pension plans and pension-related topics
  • Ability to communicate the value of services to clients, deliver insights on how the service will impact the client’s business, and effectively close the opportunity

Education

  • Advanced Degree is preferred and/or equivalent work-related experience and success
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

The salary range for this position is $150-175K annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
