Job Summary:


The Adult Division in the Department of Psychiatry (DOP) has an opening for a part time (.25 FTE) faculty position.

The Trauma Assessment Services for Kids (TASK) Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic providing comprehensive, trauma-sensitive assessment services for children who have experienced early life stress/abuse and present with complex symptoms and behaviors including concerns about cognitive and/or developmental delays. The TASK Clinic assessments include components of evaluation by a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, an Occupational Therapist assessment, and a Pediatrician in addition to the neuropsychological testing evaluation. The TASK Clinic seeks a part-time pediatric/child neuropsychologist on Thursday mornings (8am-1pm) to complete comprehensive trauma-informed, culturally responsive pediatric/child psychological and neuropsychological evaluations.

The TASK clinic is a collaboration between the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect and the Department of Psychiatry’s Stress, Trauma, Adversity Research and Treatment (START) Center.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor, Clinical Senior Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and evaluate battery of tests and measures to ensure they are up to date and inclusive of neuropsychological batteries that are developmentally and culturally appropriate for patient population.
  • Trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive psychological and neuropsychological assessments of children ages 3-12 and their caregivers.
  • Document in electronic medical records.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Take active steps in test administration and report writing that addresses and reduces the impacts of cultural bias.
  • Trauma-informed clinical intake assessments of children and families referred to the TASK program.
  • Provide limited neurocognitive rehabilitation.
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver report results and treatment recommendations.
  • Work across systems of care to promote comprehensive treatment of children, including collaboration with medical, educational, and child welfare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with caregivers and family networks and treatment providers to promote trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive treatment.
  • Develop assessment reports that consider and incorporate the impacts of chronic forms of childhood neglect and maltreatment and are culturally relevant.
  • Administer, score, interpret psycho-diagnostic, intellectual, and neuropsychological assessment measures.

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor through Clinical Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Clinical Instructor/Senior Instructor/Assistant Professor:

  • Two (2) years minimum experience conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments with children.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health System.
  • Licensed psychologist in Colorado or ability to obtain Colorado state licensure prior to the onset of employment.
  • Completion of ABCN approved post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric/child neuropsychology prior to starting faculty position.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience working clinically with children.
  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD/PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship

Clinical Associate Professor:

  • Completion of ABCN approved post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric/child neuropsychology prior to starting faculty position.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments with children.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience working clinically with children.
  • 4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health System.
  • Licensed psychologist in Colorado or ability to obtain Colorado state licensure prior to the onset of employment.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD/PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship

Clinical Professor:

  • 7+ years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience working clinically with children.
  • Completion of ABCN approved post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric/child neuropsychology prior to starting faculty position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health System.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD/PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship
  • Two (2) years minimum experience conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments with children.
  • Licensed psychologist in Colorado or ability to obtain Colorado state licensure prior to the onset of employment.

Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks)

  • Experience providing multiple types of neuropsychological care in addition to conducting comprehensive evaluation and testing.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working in a child neuropsychology setting (e.g., hospital, community, and/or private).
  • Bilingual practitioner with capacity to conduct assessments in English and Spanish.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Psychologist

PhD and/or PsyD

Clinical Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor: $105,000 to $120,000 based on a 1.0 FTE

Clinical Associate Professor: $130,000 to $145,000 based on a 1.0 FTE

Clinical Professor: $175,000 to $205,000 based on a 1.0 FTE

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
