The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City is currently recruiting physicians to join the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Full time, part time, and per diem BC/BE PEM Faculty and site leadership positions with immediate start dates are available.
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is responsible for over 115,000 pediatric visits a year across the Mount Sinai Health System. The Pediatric Emergency Departments at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and Elmhurst Hospital Center are part of vibrant, socioeconomically and culturally diverse communities and serves families from all 5 boroughs of New York City. We provide family-centered care in self- enclosed units with PEM fellows, pediatric focused nursing, child life specialists, music therapy, medical students, and resident house staff from five leading residency programs. Our integrated faculty have a well-balanced and individualized professional development program and can take advantage of clinical, research, and teaching opportunities. We are engaged in grant-funded research in simulation, resuscitation, debriefing, observation medicine, medical informatics and quality improvement.
The Mount Sinai Emergency Medicine Department is one of the largest in the country. Our faculty staff the hospitals within the Mount Sinai Health System (the Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Queens, Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai Brooklyn, Mount Sinai South Nassau, Mount Sinai Long Beach (freestanding), as well as affiliated hospitals including Elmhurst Hospital Center, Queens Hospital Center, and Richmond University Medical Center. The Emergency Medicine Service Line has almost 300 faculty, more than 100 physician assistants, and treat more than 750K patients annually. The Department is ranked number 3 in research funding from the National Institutes of Health, is home to 2 emergency medicine residencies, 11 fellowships (including one in Pediatric Emergency Medicine), and is affiliated with 2 pediatrics residencies.
Position Qualifications:
- Experience in leadership roles and program development is preferred for site leadership positions.
- Committed to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance driven Health System
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- Compensation range from 250K to 325K (not including bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits)
- Clinical and administrative experience preferred
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Excellent communication, bedside manner and organizational skills
- Current New York Medical License

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.
