General Description

The PC Deskside Technician is a hybrid role combining Help Desk and Deskside support. In this role, the PC Deskside Technician supports and maintains computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. He or she will install, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade hardware and equipment and ensure optimal workstation performance. This role will provide end-user assistance where required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Recommend or perform corrective actions for problems.
  • Communicate the status of incidents and provide plans for resolving incidents.
  • Respond to the help desk ticket queue, escalated ticket items, and system events.
  • Work as part of a team and participate in group events and technical discussions.
  • Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan.
  • Generate operational support documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects.
  • Lead proactive problem resolution and continual service delivery improvement.
  • Utilize established best practices for setup, configuration, maintenance, and deployment.

Requirements

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in Desktop, Laptop, Printers, Microsoft Operating Systems, and software.
  • MS Office and MS application experience and troubleshooting.
  • Some travel may be required domestic or international (less than 5%).
  • Basic understanding of Windows including administration, setup, domain configuration, application installation, security, etc. on tablets, laptops, and desktop computers.
  • Windows Server knowledge; specifically, file structures and associated security controls.
  • Understanding of computer hardware and Windows troubleshooting processes and techniques.
  • Network troubleshooting skills; specifically, PC network adapter configurations and a basic understanding of TCP/IP.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Understanding of MS Active Directory Services specific to PC setup and deployment.

Working Environment and Physical Conditions

  • Normal office environment, or
  • Intermediate physical activity including lifting, bending, squatting, walking, and sitting, etc.

Wage/Salary : $58,000 - $62,000 per year

Additional Compensation: Participation in a Company-sponsored variable compensation plan.
