Job Description


A scaffolding company that specializes in private construction, industrial and maritime industries is seeking a Payroll or HR Manager to join their team in Spring Valley, CA! The company is looking for detail-oriented individuals who have a strong background in certified payroll reporting that also have knowledge of labor compliance and government regulations. This role is to oversee payroll processing, labor compliance, and employee onboarding for a government contractor that has several offices.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000 DOE


Responsibilities


  • Facilitate new employee onboarding, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurately filed in the system
  • Process salary changes, compensations, deductions, and bonuses for employees
  • Ensure all payroll-related tasks comply with government regulations
  • Determine wage rates and trade classifications in alignment with federal and state prevailing wage regulations
  • Manage certified payroll reporting, labor compliance tasks, and project labor agreement (PLA) requirements
  • Process payroll for 100+ employees using Sage or Paychex software
  • Provide expert knowledge in labor compliance and certified payroll reporting
  • Work closely with the production team to streamline employee influx due to business growth


Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and certified payroll reporting – Construction industry is preferred
  • Experience in residential and commercial construction is essential
  • Proficient in Sage and/or Paychex software for payroll processing
  • Knowledge of labor compliance, PLA requirements, federal, and state prevailing wage determination
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field is preferred
