As the Payroll Specialist, you will assist in the preparation, review, and processing of company payroll and relative information for GXO’s US and Canadian employees. You will report into the Manager, Payroll, however, provide direct support to the Lead Specialist and Payroll Analysts to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll alerts
  • Maintain written procedures and knowledge base reference materials relative to payroll processing
  • Review and resolve payroll issues, inquiries, and transactions
  • Reconciling regular payroll with on demand payments to avoid duplicate pay
  • Maintain check mailing instructions
  • Run simulation payments for on-demand payments
  • Process Automated Clearing House (ACH) notification of changes, rejected funds, and other issue resolution for direct deposit
  • Process termination pay and special payment requests based on state regulations
  • Issue Record of Employment (ROE) for Canadian employee leave of absences and terminations
  • Enter adjustment data into Employee Central Payroll (ECP) for inclusion in payroll processing
  • Review hours and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Initiate ACH direct deposit reversals on overpayments
  • Sort and distribute department mail
  • Support special projects and system and process testing

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Experience with HR technologies/modules in a leading platform such as SuccessFactors
  • 1 year of related work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to excellence by ensuring proper, efficient, and accurate use of processes
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
