Job Description
We are looking for a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to process and manage the company's payroll, accounting and administrative duties to support the Payroll and Human Resources department. They will ensure payment is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations for both salaried and hourly employees. They will also comply with all state and federal regulations as it pertains to timekeeping, tax payments, and any garnishments or levies. A payroll specialist is able to use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. They are good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. They also have great communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives. The goal is to ensure personnel receives the correct compensation in a timely manner.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Team members are responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees (130+ Employees)
  • Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, precision, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Be a good teammate - commit to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team
  • Assist in the maintenance of employee records and adhere to all state and federal laws
  • Must be able to handle all federal and multi-state tax concerns relating to payroll.
  • Post, update and reconcile all employee-related payroll deductions (garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, etc.)
  • Be willing and adaptable to assist in other departments within the organization
  • Must be able to review time logs, compute wages, reconcile wages, overtime, and other types of pay with accuracy and compliance.
  • Resolve any issues/questions by supervisor or other parties in a timely and professional manner
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to take independent action to make sound decisions
  • Excellent understanding of QuickBooks is essential
  • Experience in problem-solving
  • Paylocity experience is required
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience processing payroll
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels
