The FORWARD Payment Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day processing of customer payments to multiple government customers. This role supports the financial processes for FORWARD and participates in identifying process improvement opportunities, suggests efficiencies, and executes updates to processes. This experienced Analyst focuses primarily on processing payments, managing billing and completing reconciliations for programs that are administered by FORWARD. This role ensures that payments are made in a timely manner and provides reporting to leadership as requested regarding payment processing for specific programs or business operations.


Responsibilities


  • Reconcile program-wide payments to ensure accuracy per each individual program contract.
  • Perform all other job duties assigned and respond to ad hoc requests/projects as needed.
  • Continually seek methods to improve efficiencies of our reporting and financial processes.
  • Communicate with employees to obtain information, supporting documentation or clarification regarding payments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on setting up transfers with banks and ensure transfer initiations/requests are made in a timely manner.
  • Create new billing forms for customers and new invoice requests for accounting groups to ensure all billing is completed accurately and in alignment with the program’s reporting requirements.
  • Prepare files for electronic check and ACH processing. Maintain a schedule of weekly payments per government contract.
  • Process payments for multiple government contracts and multiple types of funds, ensuring all internal controls and approvals are maintained.


Qualifications


  • Highly accurate and detail oriented. Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experience 5+ years.
  • Effective communication skills and customer service approach towards employees and customers
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Bilingual abilities are strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration preferred but not required.
  • Excellent Excel and Google Suite skills
  • Ability to recognize inefficiencies and come up with creative solutions
  • Cash management experience a plus
  • Experience in processing AP/Contractual payments for non-profits, grants, and government contracts.
  • Understanding of financial and operational controls and processes
