Description


The Amazon Payments Acceptance & Experience Team is responsible for how Amazon’s customers pay on Amazon’s sites and through Amazon’s services around the globe. You will work with the biggest players in the payments industry to deliver best-in-class customer payment experiences while driving change in the industry.


As a Business Analyst, you're supporting the team to identify opportunities to improve paying experience in the EU. You analyze payments data, customers' preferences and payments partners data to drive decisions. You also build reports and mechanisms that help the team scale at the regional level through self-service tools. Finally, you engage with other analytics team to define models that contribute to refining business decisions.


The role can be available in the US or locations across Europe, including London, Paris, or Madrid.


Day To Day, You Will


  • Develop models to forecast adoption, growth or profitability of some projects.
  • Employ data mining, segmentation, and other analytical techniques to capture important trends and create relevant measurement dashboards (from internal data or external data).
  • Gather data and perform ad-hoc analytical exercises to generate actionable insights and improve customer payment experience in Europe.
  • Drive standardization, build tools and dashboards that the team can access self-service.
  • Proactively work directly with business team to conduct deep dives and drive resolution.
  • Suggest test methodologies to confirm hypothesis before investment decisions.


Key job responsibilities


Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing and ad-hoc metrics, reports, and analyses, to drive key business decisions


Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format


Define the data elements to enable analytical and reporting capabilities, and work cross-functionally with other research teams when needed


Analyze data to identify patterns, root cause, and business opportunities


Participate in strategic & tactical planning discussions


Basic Qualifications


Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.


3+ years of relevant work experience in data science, business analytics, business intelligence (BI), or comparable analytics positions handling large, complex data sets.


Advanced SQL and Excel skills to access and transform data into insights.


Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling.


Excellent communication (verbal, written, and data presentation) and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with business teams.


Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.


Ability to generate simple and inventive solutions to deliver business value in an iterative way.


Preferred Qualifications


– Experience in e-commerce and/or payments.


– Experience as a Business/Financial Analyst or Systems Analyst in a company with large, complex data sources


– Experience with AWS services including S3


– Deep experience with data reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Quicksight)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
