Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am-5:30pm

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Patient Services Representative II provides patient-families with a positive experience at CHLA by performing clerical tasks primarily associated with answering incoming calls, registration, and patient check-in/out procedures, collection of patient co-pay or deductibles, scheduling and verifying patient appointments. Completes financial clearance and authorization duties, serves as the administrative support for assigned providers. Works closely with assigned providers to ensure follow up care is completed. Assists with creation and review of divisional performance reports and metrics.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1+ years experience in medical front office setting required, 3+ years in medical office setting preferred. Knowledge with navigating in health plans, pre-certification/authorization process and requirements. Secures authorizations for clinic visits, office procedures, and ancillary orders. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Excellent telephone manner and ability to deal effectively with the public. Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Education/Licensure/Certification: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
