We are hiring a customer-service-focused Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) to join our team in SBowling Green KY The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for educating new patients about the St. Matthews Pharmacy Program, onboarding and enrolling patients, and delivering prescription medications to patients at an assigned client location. The Patient Services Coordinator also acts as a liaison to St. Matthews Pharmacy's pharmacy, provides information about the St. Matthews Pharmacy Program, and resolves any emerging problems that may arise in assigned client accounts. The Patient Services Coordinator must maintain a high degree of security, ethical conduct, and provide excellent customer service to clients and patients. Laboratory collection responsibilities may also be required, depending on the needs of the client the Patient Services Coordinator supports. The Patient Services Coordinator reports to the Regional Pharmacy Supervisor.
This Patient Services Coordinator role is compensated between $16-19 The schedule for this role is Monday 930a-630p, Tuesday 930a-4p, Wednesday 930a-2p, Thursday 930a-4, Friday 930a-4p. Please contact us for more information!

Essential Functions

• Receive delivery of patient medications, via courier drop-off or direct pick-up at pharmacy or local shipping carriers
• Liaise between the pharmacy and client to ensure prescriptions are prepared for delivery based on patients’ schedule, working ahead as-needed
• Build strong working relationships and trust with providers, patients and pharmacy staff
• Provide accurate, valid and complete information in portal entries
• On-board and enroll patients into Cordant Pharmacy Program
• Return undelivered medication and other required documents and monies to the pharmacy at the end of each day
• Maintain call, shipping, and medication delivery logs
• Obtain, file, ship, or fax any paperwork associated with the prescription
• Educate potential patients about the St. Matthews Pharmacy Program in detail
• Maintain security of medications
• Answering questions and explaining the benefits of our program to patients
• Deliver medication to patients seen by the prescriber, per prescriber direction
• Verify patient identity prior to delivery and ensure accurate entry of demographic information

Laboratory Collections

• Assemble samples for shipping
• File requisitions, chain of custody forms, and associated paperwork
• Maintain organization in the collection of all specimens
• Collect, log, order, process, and ship urine, blood, oral, and/or hair specimens to laboratory
• Courier packages from local shipping affiliates to laboratory for testing

Additional Duties

• Pick-up or drop-off prescriptions to pharmacy/FedEx drop site, as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace that is conducive to workflow
• Provide clear documentation in portal around prescriptions
• Follow all procedures, guidelines and policies
• Keep detailed record of client and patient interactions

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree advantageous for PSC career path program
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance as a covered driver, required
• 2+ years experience working in a medical office, preferred
• HS diploma or GED required
• 2+ years customer service experience, required
• A combination of relevant education and work experience may be accepted to satisfy this requirement

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills with ability to actively listen
• Must have basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read names, test codes, follow basic instructions
• Comfortable approaching and speaking to patients and medical providers
• Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as a in a team environment
• High degree of trustworthiness and ethical conduct

Physical Requirements

• Working at a fast pace, subject to many interruptions and both physical and mental stress
• Sitting & standing for long periods of time
• Potential contact with biological specimens requiring protective devices
• Must be able to perform observed collections if required
• Repetitive motions and/or prolonged computer use
• Light to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.) Heavier weights with assistance
