Job Description
Overview


At Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio, we are looking for dependable, compassionate people interested in gaining experience and becoming an invaluable resource to our organization. VNA of Ohio is now hiring a full time Patient Service Coordinator for our Cleveland office and your qualifications and skill set may be an ideal match for this opportunity.


Responsibilities


Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following:


  • Provides clerical support to clinical manager as requested
  • Assists with coordination and preparation for staff meetings.
  • Processes team and individual performance reports weekly or biweekly and follows up with staff. Reports findings to clinical manager as appropriate.
  • Prepares medical records for quarterly or focused audits and data enters audit results.
  • Reviews paper documentation for accuracy, identifying errors/discrepancies for follow-up with clinical manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Orders and maintains adequate stock of office supplies.
  • Accurate data entry and recordkeeping into appropriate systems and logs.
  • Field and screen calls in accordance with establish office policy.
  • Performs other related duties based on departmental need .
  • Prepares, retrieves and prints charts as necessary for clinical review.
  • Assists other departments in need of clinical documentation to support billing or regulatory compliance.
  • Perform routine administrative duties including, word processing, scheduling of appointments and assignments, maintenance of departmental files and supplies, photocopying, mailings, scanning, and fax retrieval.


Physical Requirements


Office Work :


  • Manual dexterity to operate general office equipment, such as phone, computer, printer, scanner, copy machine and fax
  • Close and mid-distance visual acuity
  • Ability to communicate with others (verbal and written) and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time


Qualifications


  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, within strict time parameters, and with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in written and oral communication including grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Medical terminology training or healthcare setting experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working as part of a team and working effectively with persons and communities from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds. The ability to work in a complex institutional structure requiring significant collaboration.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office with data entry skills of 60 wpm.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year administrative experience.
