Location: Smith Northview Campus
Department: SNH - OUTPT NURSING
Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 0600-1430

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides personal care and assists with ADLs. Performs 12 lead EKG’s. Performs Phlebotomy. Obtains and processes specimens. Performs clerical duties. Assists RNs & LPNs with patient care procedures. All competencies listed may not be implemented in every nursing unit due to variation of services provided.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant’s experience preferred. One year experience in clinical area preferred. Current CPR Certification. General office and computer skills and medical terminology preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works primarily in hospital setting, consistent shift and unit Generally assigned to consistent shift and unit but may be required to be temporarily re-assigned to meet department needs. Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50 lbs), bending, and assisting in same, using correct techniques. Requires extensive walking during shift. Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids and infectious diseases on a daily basis. Must be able to operate office equipment, computers, computerized lab equipment, printers, fax, telephone & nurse call systems. Interacts daily w/persons under stress, having complex complaints, and/or with whom there is a need to respond to questions, problems, or gain cooperation. Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by Saunders Method (very heavy).
