Job Description

Patient Care Coordinator

MUST HAVE MEDICAL/COSMETIC COORDINATOR, AND/OR SALES EXPERIENCE

Reports To: Practice Manager


Position Summary:

Responsible for providing a positive first impression of the practice to the patient by promptly answering and efficiently handling each call. As a patient care coordinator, you will assist the care team with setting goals for quality assurance and best practices. Specific duties including assessing and screening patients as well as providing them with education about medical and cosmetic processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must acquire a thorough working knowledge of JUVA.
  • Must be extremely organized.
  • Be a mature, compassionate, respectful adult, possessing exceptional communication skills.
  • Sales oriented. Self-motivator.
  • Be able to communicate in English, both written and orally.
  • Must acquire knowledge of the policies and procedures of JUVA Skin & Laser Center.
  • Must have experience in Microsoft Office

Education: High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience: Prior cosmetic patient coordinating experience preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly and professionally greet patients and visitors. Notify personnel of arrival of patients.
  • Possess a calm, reassuring, competent demeanor and the ability to be sensitive to patient needs and attitude.
  • Answer all cosmetic calls. Accurately communicate information to patients and to staff in a concise manner.
  • Be capable of multi-tasking.
  • Be capable of masking emotions and frustration when dealing with difficult situations and/or patients.
  • Maintain current knowledge of activities, policies and procedures, and outreach/promotional activities (newspaper advertising, seminars, luncheons).
  • Maintain all surgical charts and ensure all preoperative tasks are completed in accordance with our guidelines.
  • Be knowledgeable about services and products available at our facility.
  • Orients and educates patients and their families by meeting them; explaining the role of the patient care coordinator; initiating the care plan; providing educational information in conjunction with direct care providers related to treatments, procedures, medications, and continuing care requirements.
  • Be a mature, pleasant adult, conservative and tasteful in appearance, able to relate to the patient base.
  • Determine urgency of a patient’s call and handle in accordance with office policy.
  • Participate in staff meetings; attend relevant educational activities at the request of supervisor.
