Position Summary


The Patient Access Support Representative 1, under general supervision, supports one to three skills (as defined by clinics) via telephone interaction. The Patient Access Support Rep answers all incoming calls as the first line of communication for the patients and clinics. Duties may include: scheduling, cancelling and rescheduling appointments per established protocols; registering patients using accurate demographic and insurance information; identifying patients with new or worsening acute medical conditions and connecting them with Nurse Triage to get patients the right care at the right time and place; identifying the reason for the call and appropriate resolution; scheduling from referrals to Specialty Clinics; identifying post op concerns and appropriate resolution; and directing calls to other departments as needed. A professional and friendly personality demonstrating collaborative interaction with patients, providers and other staff members are integral to the success of this position.


Qualifications


Education


  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required
  • Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field, preferred


Experience


  • Minimum 1 year of call center or related sales and customer service experience is required
