We are looking for a Patent Analyst to join our team! This is an amazing opportunity to put your technical knowledge to use by researching and analyzing cutting edge technologies at Clarivate.
Work with us as a remote independent contractor in this flexible 1099 role supporting our contract with the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). Our team has supported the USPTO by providing PCT Chapter I Search and Examination services since 2005. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive search and a written opinion on the patentability of an array of diverse technologies. If selected, they will be expected to perform the work in accordance with the terms of a consulting agreement to be presented to them for consideration by Clarivate

About You – Experience, Education, Skills, And Accomplishments
- U.S. citizen or work eligible legal resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years.
- Previous work experience industry or advanced research in a related field is required.
- Bachelors degree in appropriate technology or subject area
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Must pass USPTO Background check
- Master's degree or PhD is a plus
- Highly skilled developing a search methodology and conducting searches.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to complete projects agains deadlines.
- Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar or PatSeer
- Previous patent examining /patent searching experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

- Maintain consistent timeliness and superior quality of deliverables.
- Perform a comprehensive search to ensure the most relevant prior art is located and provide a logical and complete search history.
- Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and other proprietary databases of technical publications.
- On a weekly basis, accept projects with a defined due date based on your availability and the needs of Clarivate.
- Ensure compliance with Clarivate’s Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct
- Demonstrate the ability to read a disclosure quickly and understand the technical nuances which may potentially distinguish it from the prior art.
- Stay abreast of best practices and changes to search procedures via self directed review of materials provided by Clarivate.
- Prepare a written opinion applying the most relevant prior art to the disclosure.
- A Reliable, High Speed Internet connection: at least 10 Mbps of download speed and 1 Mbps of upload speed of dedicated internet bandwidth
- A Computer running up to date versions of Windows or Mac OS.
- Phone and voicemail service for business communication.
- A secure work location - Working from public areas is not permitted
- Continental U.S. Core business hours.
