Part-Time Valet Attendant-Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital- Salinas, Ca

Under general supervision provides traffic and parking related services. Assist visitors/patients with entry and exit of vehicles. Parks and retrieves vehicles.

Compensation: $16.00

• Assists patients, visitors and guests with information, directions, and other requests
• Monitors parking area for any suspicious activity that could result in injury to a person or damage to/loss of property and reports incidents to the security supervisor
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of a facility or, where applicable, multiple facilities
• Parks and retrieves vehicles when stacking is needed
• Maintains a positive working relationship with Tarian, facility employees, patients, visitors, physicians, and general public.
• Provides light clean-up services of parking structure and valet areas
• Greets and assists customers.
• Abides by all regulations and guidelines of the client facility and Tarian

High School diploma or G.E.D. AND two (2) years of customer service and/or call center experience or equivalency or any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the job.

• Obtain and maintain valid Driver’s License and meet company driving standards

• Demonstrated ability in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office Word, Power point, Excel, and Outlook, or other job-related software.

• Excellent customer service skills and genuine desire to assist people and provide parking assistance.
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend English language proficiently.
• Communicate effectively with diverse people including clients or their representatives, client employees, visitors, and client vendors.

• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Comprehend and fulfill written or verbal instructions.

While performing this job, individual will walk, stand, sit, observe and drive for extended periods of time in various weather conditions; run, climb stairs, and carry fire extinguishers or other emergency equipment; help restrain or lift a person; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently required to use hands, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear; specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; self-motivation and ability to work independent of immediate supervision.
