Part-Time Tasting Room Associate (James Cole Winery)

Tasting Room Associates are responsible for growing wine sales, wine club memberships, and public knowledge of James Cole Winery. The people who are most successful in this role are passionate about wine, love interacting with all types of people, enjoy working as part of a team, and are able to bring a sense of positivity and energy with them to work each day. We pay well, offer great benefits and healthy commissions. And, we just happen to be looking for a new team member who can bring a great attitude, kindness, professionalism, and a solid work ethic every day.

Responsibilities

• Encourage guests to join our Wine Club.
• Must be driven, possess an outgoing personality, and have the aptitude to solve problems.
• Educate our guests on our unique history and share our story.
• Ability to sell over the phone, book reservations, provide top-level customer service at all times.
• Sell our wines in a direct to consumer environment.
• Host groups and provide memorable and positive tasting experiences.

Skills & Requirements

• 1-2+ years of hospitality experience is preferred, but not required.
• Focused and has a positive outlook, is enthusiastic and creative.
• Familiarity with WineDirect Point of Sale System is a plus.
• Takes initiative, is reliable, adaptable, and a team player.
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience within the wine industry.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Our part-time employees are generally scheduled to work 8-29 hours per week.
• A variety of schedules available with most hours being between 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, weekend availability a must!
• Work at James Cole Winery in Napa, California.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (case of wine) regularly and to remain standing on feet for long periods of time.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

• We offer a competitive starting rate ($21-27 per hour) with additional opportunities for commissions, quarterly bonuses, and lucrative credit card tips. The average host in this position can make up to $95,000 per year. Hourly rates are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
