Part-Time Nights Or Weekends Direct Support Professional

CVA is currently seeking part-time Direct Support Professional staff for weekend shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking field experience in health care, mental health human services, or the non-profit sector.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP):

• Develops and utilizes skills necessary to make pertinent behavioral observations.
• Assists individuals in actively participating in their community including but not limited to shopping, paying bills, as well as recreational activities.
• Provides the necessary guidance to individuals as specified in their Individual Support Plan (ISP) to assist the individual in becoming more independent.
• Aids and assists with all self-help skills as deemed necessary, while striving to help the individual in developing progress towards specified goals.
• Observes, institutes, and records the individual's progress towards the annual Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals.
• Assists individuals in maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable living environment by performing general housekeeping duties, which may include making beds, cooking meals, laundry, care of equipment, etc.
• Provides general nursing care for medication administration, hygiene tasks, and nutrition. (Dependent upon program)
• Participates in any activities or programs to ensure enjoyable and constructive use of time.
• Participates in the development of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) for each individual.
• Develops awareness of the individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP).
• Provides input to monthly staffing meetings.

Requirements:

• Caring, compassionate, with an interest in helping others succeed
• Physical ability to push, pull or lift 15 to 20 lbs. regularly
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License, car insurance and dependable vehicle
• 18 years of age or older

Salary: $17.00/hour up to $20.00*/hour, and raise at 6 months. *Shift differentials apply

Schedule/Availability: Based on the needs of the program, including nights or weekends. Part-Time employees can work up to a maximum 29 hours a week.
