Key Responsibilities
The Parts Department Team member is a trusted expert that plays an active role in the parts department’s success. As a Parts Department Team member, you are responsible for assisting and selling parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. Key Responsibilities Include The Following. Others May Be Assigned.

• Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs
• Keeps current on new products and product updates.
• Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Assists in keeping parts department clean and orderly
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
• Follows up on back-ordered parts.
• Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
• Assists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Follows up on shortages and expedites issues by reporting to the manager

Requirements

• Ability to write and speak effectively
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record
• Proven, excellent customer relationship skills
• Experience with electronic parts catalogs
• At least 1 year experience working in parts department operations
• Able to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet functions
