Job Description
Basic Job Function:
Welcoming guests and members to the establishment, offer to park and retrieve their car, offer information about check-in, open and closing car doors and hotel entrance doors. Provide excellent customer service, and efficiently and carefully parking guest(s) vehicles in designated locations. Our Valet’s are the first and last point of contact for guests and members and should promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Use of company vehicle: Designated to drive a company vehicle - Class B
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changes
  • Must be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to drive a manual/standard transmission vehicle
  • Must possess or obtain Defensive Driving certification within a three (3)-months period from hire date as a condition of continued employment
  • One (1) year previous hotel valet experience preferred
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License
  • Must be able to drive vehicles of all sizes

  • Ability to react quickly to traffic patterns and guest flow
  • Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review
  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members and co-workers
Tasks/Responsibilities:
  • Follow operating procedures for tagging keys and securing vehicles
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
  • Assist in policing the area for trash and keeping the front area clean and presentable
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Return to the valet station as quickly as possible, ensuring that guests and members will not have to wait for service
  • Provide directions and information to guests
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Follow all instructions pertaining to the Bell Service operation assigned by the Supervisor
  • Greet guests, members, shuttles and transportation vehicles at entrance
  • Park and retrieve vehicles for guests and members in a prompt, yet safe manner
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Promote all hotel functions and facilities
  • Offer to park vehicles for all guests and members arriving at the entrance of the hotel
  • Assist guests and members with articles in vicinity of the entrance
  • Assist the doorperson when not parking cars
  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability

Physical Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
  • Maintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
