Parking Control Officer Jobs

Summary Enforces laws and regulations governing the parking of vehicles on public streets. Essential Functions

• Read and understand laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the parking of vehicles in the City;
• Maintain records of citations issued;
• Communicate effectively with others
• Frequently rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing
• Occasionally walk and stand during a shift
• Answer questions from public regarding travel directions, parkingregulations, etc...
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 10 pounds
• Direct traffic when necessary;
• Present testimony in Municipal Court as required regarding parking violations and citations;
• Perform related duties as directed. Qualifications Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additionalthree to nine months experience involving contact with the public; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Valid Current Driver's License Knowledge and Abilities Ability to:
• Patrol an assigned area in a Cushman scooter or automobile;
• Keep records;
• Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees
• Work assigned school crossings;
• Operate a vehicle Physical Requirements
• Coordinate eye, hand and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle
• Place arms above, at or below shoulder height
• Issue citations for parking violations;
