INDUS provides industrial support services across the Undersea Weapons Department (Code 30), Test and Evaluation Department (Code 20), Undersea Systems & Sustainment Department (Code 40) and Unmanned and Theater Undersea Warfare Systems Department (Code 50), of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT). Requirements include providing technical support services associated with various industrial operations, depot repair activities, and torpedo intermediate maintenance functions.


Reporting to the Program Manager, the Painter provides abrasive blasting support and prepares metal for re-painting of containers, canisters, and other equipment to programs on the NUWCDIVKPT Industrial Support Services (ISS) contract. The ideal candidate also has experience performing maintenance and minor repair of blast equipment. INDUS is hiring for this position in multiple locations


  • Bangor, WA.
  • Keyport, WA.
  • Perform minor (defects smaller than one (1) inch in diameter) repair (parts replacement) of equipment (e.g. remove and replace damaged spray nozzle component with Government furnished equipment).
  • Perform visual inspection of operations performed and take corrective action as required.
  • Utilize the government provided spray gun and multimedia abrasive blasting equipment and booth to abrasive blast containers, canisters, structures, fixtures, assemblies, equipment, and hardware.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Utilize SSPC SP 10 "Near White Metal Blast Cleaning" abrasive blasting technique.
  • Clean and maintain abrasive blats equipment.
  • Prepare containers, structures, fixtures, assemblies, equipment, and hardware for re-painting in accordance with shop instructions/processes. Use primer and paint containers and hardware in accordance with shop instructions/processes.


Required Qualifications


  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be trained and qualified to perform SP6 and SP10 blasting in accordance with Steel Structures Painting Council (SSPC) standards.
  • At least three (3) years of experience operating and providing preventative maintenance to abrasive blasting and spray painting equipment.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Technical Instructor is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining long-range and short-range training programs in support of programs on the NUWCDIVKPT Industrial Support Services (ISS) contract. The ideal candidate has experience developing and maintaining curriculum and other training activities. INDUS is hiring for this position in multiple locations

  • Assess the training program and take action to improve training effectiveness by readdressing the instructions, updating curriculum, and other actions as required.
  • Assess training effectiveness by examination administration, long-range and short-range training completion, linkage of training plans to division goals, gathering data from feedback reports and other correspondence, self assessments and assessments of internal and external audits, reviews, and inspections.
  • Provide standard and ad hoc reports to divisional supervisors and branch managers on training completion, effectiveness, and recommendations.
  • Track, monitor, and report on professional development training and programs to the Government branch managers. Elements of this report include development and maintenance of tracking folders for individual employees, tracking progression through identified training/professional development opportunities, and development and maintenance of required schools list.
  • Provide technical instruction to instructors and participate in new curriculum development when new designs are incorporated.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide comments on the feasibility and success of incorporating the new design in training curriculums.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and maintain the long-range and short-range training programs including torpedo systems curriculum used at the NUWC Division, Keyport Depot maintenance activity, combat systems, NAVAIR, and SUBSAFE programs, non-torpedo systems curriculum Advance Equipment Repair Program (AERP), human capital investment initiatives, , and other product lines processed in the Depot and IMA and delivering them via various formats for individual and team training.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Responsible for the management and overall planning, design, development, evaluation, and implementation of training systems and programs.
  • Develop training plans to ensure the required levels of training are obtained and ensure compliance with the torpedo CCT Program.
  • Develop training competencies for subject matter experts in the work force.
  • Oversee the division qualification process.
