Packaging Quality Technician, 2nd Shift

The following position is open in Loretto Kentucky, United States. This position will be based at the Maker’s Mark distillery which is approximately 20 miles south of Bardstown, KY.

Role Responsibilities

• Follows Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements
• Participates in global work teams
• Monitors performance by gathering and analyzing relevant data
• Promotes the ownership of quality to the employees’ performing activities within production
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all incoming material procedures/processes
• Support and troubleshoot Quality issues relating to production and raw materials
• Promotes quality, environmental, health and safety achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
• Other duties as indicated
• Responsible for following all ISO 9001/22000 standards for the site to ensure that certification is maintained
• Ensures Quality Assurance procedures for the Quality Control laboratory areas are maintained, followed, and documented.
• Ensures quality procedures, work instructions and associated documentation are properly developed, reviewed, implemented, and updated
• Highly motivated individual who can operate independently
• Working with the suppliers to build continuous improvement initiatives to support the production needs
• Reviews all packaging quality equipment needs and responsible for overseeing all maintenance/calibration are carried out to ensure we are meeting our compliance to standards
• Responsible for ensuring timely completion/investigation of all supplier quality issues
• Promote, supports, and adhere to the job requirements for the department with regards to Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations and fully support the company IMS objectives and initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in the ISO 9001/22000 standard
• College Degree or a minimum of 3 years applicable production/quality experience within the last 10 years in a food/beverage manufacturing site
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research and provide written reports & analysis based on that research

• Demonstrate the ability to use problem solving/root cause analysis tools
• Excellent working knowledge of the TTB regulations
• Must be willing and able to taste alcoholic beverages
• Ability and proven experience in utilizing PC and software used by the operating unit
• Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail under limited supervision and within established time frames
• Good communication skills including presentations, negotiations, meeting facilitation and producing written documents
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with company personnel at all levels of management with demonstrated leadership
• Must be a progressive leader and problem solver
