Job Description
Requisition ID: 2023-2243 Job Summary:
Artemis is seeking a full-time, versatile Outreach Specialist with comprehensive experience in partnership and outreach for a large-scale recruitment marketing initiative. This individual will be responsible for contacting and collaborating with accredited national organizations and educational institutions to engage target demographics and advertise programs and resources developed by the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Office of Workforce Management and Consulting (WMC). These efforts will modernize the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by increasing the number of specialists hired at VA medical centers across the country.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem-solver, timely communicator, and action-oriented team player with previous experience in marketing and partnership outreach, He/she/they must be committed to providing superior service, act poised in a fast-paced environment, and have a positive and flexible attitude.

This is a contingent hire position.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Gather, analyze, fact check and effectively track data and metrics from various sources.
  • Work with a team to develop themes, concepts, messaging and distribution tactics to encourage recruitment at VA.
  • Build, maintain, and expand partnerships with national organizations and institutions through weekly communication and collaborative initiatives.
  • Ensure content conveys critical information and reflects key messaging in a standardized and consistent voice and tone.
  • Implement edits provided by clients and other team members effectively and quickly.
  • Support other duties and assignments as required by clients.
  • Write, review and edit content in compliance with AP style and other federal content guidelines.
  • Review documents for stylistic and formatting consistency.
  • Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including client leadership, on a weekly, biweekly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Laisse with VHA Communications and the Office of Public and Governmental Affairs (OPIA) to conduct national media outreach.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • 3-5 years of related communications experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings.
  • Experience supporting complex marketing projects and outreach marketing efforts within the federal government, preferably VHA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.

  • Knowledge on how to navigate the structures of VHA Communications and OPIA to complete high-yield deliverables.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
