Responsibilities
The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery provides comprehensive services to more than 25,000 patients per year. Otolaryngology has 20+ faculty and other academics, 20 residents and fellows, 25+ volunteer faculty, and over 80 academic and clinical staff spanning research programs that include head and neck cancer, skull base surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, audiology, voice, and dental care. This position will provide direct otolaryngology patient care in the ambulatory setting, using clinical assessment, diagnostic and treatment skills and appropriate consultation and collaboration with physicians, consistent with education and experience in the specialty of Otolaryngology.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.
- Completed a 4-week rotation in Otolaryngology during training.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR Certification
- Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area within 3 months of hire
- California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License within 3 months of hire
- Graduation with a Master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role.
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- Ability to perform patient procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience in ENT setting.
Special Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
- Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider.
- Ability to work overtime and work weekends and holidays.
- References reflect an overall meet or exceeds.
