Optometric Technician Jobs

Caris Eye Centers - Alpharetta has an immediate opening for an Optometric Technician who is highly motivated and detail oriented. The role is primary responsible for assisting the Optometrist in patient care. If you are interested in a career in healthcare, this could be the job for you! We are willing to train!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance of the optometrist or location manager, assist with activities including but not limited to the following:

• Accurately post charges for exam fees, co-pays, and products sold
• Train patients on proper contact lens use and care
• Accurately and thoroughly document optometry exams and procedures as they are being performed by the doctor.
• Other duties as assigned
• Gather patient’s medical history
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verification of benefits
• Pre-screen patients before they see the optometrist, including the administration of diagnostic tests
• List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the doctor.
• Communicating with doctors, staff, and patients

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in the optical industry is preferred but not required.
• Ability to do basic math
• Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Passion for self-improvement and continuing education
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
