As the Refrigeration Mechanic for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), you will provide skilled installation and repair/maintenance of the refrigeration equipment installed in all state owned and/or leased buildings. EAM is comprised of the Facilities Program, including Maintenance, Operations, Planning and Construction Management, and Real Estate Services, the Statewide Fleet Administration and Parking Services Program, and the Oregon Surplus Property Program.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Four years of full-time experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, OR;
  • Completion of a recognized HVAC/R apprenticeship program or a two-year HVAC/R accredited trade school in heating and air-conditioning or refrigeration AND two years of full-time experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, OR;

Additional Requirements:
Universal Refrigerant Handling 40 CFR Part 82 License, AND either:
  • Class B (LEB) license.
  • Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME), OR;
  • Limited Energy Technician Class A (LEA), OR;

Desired Attributes:
  • Knowledge of practical mathematics and some physics and chemistry.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn to operate a personal computer and software programming needed to monitor and modify energy management system software to assist in troubleshooting individual HVAC systems.
  • Training in the theory and hands-on laboratory work on pneumatic and electronic heating and air conditioning, and refrigeration systems are also essential.
