Job Opening Summary
The ophthalmic technician/assistant participates in the care of patients in a clinic setting by performing ophthalmic examinations, such as visual acuity, tonometry and lensometry; performing diagnostic technical testing, such as automated visual field assessment; Goldman visual fields; placing patients in rooms; preparing patients for exams/procedures and providing patient/family support. Ensures appropriate visit notes and that tests results are prepared and available for visit. Maintains clinic environment, including supplies and equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Person should display initiative, have the ability to multitask, and be able to take on responsibilities.
- Proven ability to problem solve and be a team member is essential.
- Completion of a one-year formal COT training program, followed by successfully passing the JCAHPO COT certification exam.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Completion of annual continuing education credits.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Certificate in Basic Life Support.
- Certified ophthalmic technician or certified ophthalmic assistant.

Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Certificate in Basic Life Support
Shift hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday
